The Material Transfer Agreement, dated 17 July 2025, was signed between the Business Incubation Center, Souphanouvong University, Luang Prabang, the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie et Chimie Marines, Université Bretagne Sud, France, and the Plant Systems Biology Lab, School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS), University of Galway, Ireland.
Fresh Chlorophyceae Cladophora (Kai) collected in the rivers in LuangPrabang Province and Oudomxay Province. In total, 19 samples of fresh algae will be evaluated to qualify for nutritional value.

1. The applicant is required to share the research results and related publications with the local project partners and the Lao ABS Authority, in acknowledgment of the resource providers.
2. This permission is granted solely for the specific research described above.
3. Should any further experiments involving the genetic resources or their digital sequence information (DSI) be intended for commercialization purposes, the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie et Chimie Marines, Université Bretagne Sud, France, and the Plant Systems Biology Lab, School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS), University of Galway, Ireland must notify the Lao ABS Authority and the local partner in order to establish a new ABS Agreement.
4. The applicant is required to acknowledge the country of origin of the genetic resources when generating or using digital sequence information (DSI) derived from those resources.
The 19 samples of fresh algae (Chlorophyceae Cladophora (Kai)) collected as described above shall not be transferred to any third party without prior written permission from the Lao ABS Authority and the local implementing partner in the Lao PDR.
The 19 samples of fresh algae (Chlorophyceae Cladophora (Kai)) will be exported from the Lao PDR to the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie et Chimie Marines, Université Bretagne Sud, France, for the study of the biochemical composition of the algae and analysis of their functional food properties. The analyses will include the evaluation of protein and amino acid content, total neutral sugars and starch, macro- and micro-elements, and total lipids from each sample. Genetic identification of species from the different samples will be performed by the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, University of Galway, Ireland.
